Students will enjoy providing the sound track for this fun but quick digital slideshow.

Fun Choral Counting Ideas

  • The first couple of times they see this slideshow, let the students whisper the numbers shown in color.
  • Have your students practice saying the pattern in the unit’s place in advance of using this slideshow a third or fourth time.
  • Once they are familiar with the pattern in the unit’s place, challenge them to figure out the pattern in the ten’s place. (even numbers x three, odd numbers x two: 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, followed by three numbers in the forties and two in the fifties)
  • Try having half the students say the number in the ten’s place and the other half say the number in the unit’s place. Then switch.

This slideshow goes with the worksheets in Multiplication Math Art; Patterns in the Unit’s Place.

A Mindful Exploration of Proper Fractions

Help your students make sense of fractions.

I started teaching in 1987, which means I’ve collected many tips and tricks along the way.  In this ebook, I share concepts, strategies, and classroom materials to help you make math sticky.

Along with this useful ebook, you will receive weekly emails from StickyMath@UnCommon-Core.com. I send information like: teacher tips, educational ideas, book reviews, curated lists, reviews of educational sites, and free first drafts of products that I’m creating for my TPT store. That way, you get helpful ideas and free stuff, while I get some feedback before I finalize products and put them up for sale.

I value your privacy. I will never sell your information. You may unsubscribe at any time.

All the best!
